Fiddling while Rome burns...

Today is already beginning to look like a snapshot of yesterday in respect to the weather. At the time of this writing it is 8:15 and the wind is already blowing 15-20 mph from the North. The only thing that is good about that is that it is from the north and blowing whatever remaining fires there are back into themselves and giving the firefighters a break.

Thousands and thousands of acres (50,000 at last report)burned from wildfires yesterday here in OK. Driven by the whips of 50-60 mph gusts the flames created cauldronous gaping maws swallowing anything within the reach of those evil tongues. While the good guys tried desperately and more often than not in vain to try to save homes and businesses, thankfully very few have been injured and i have not heard of any fatalities here or elsewhere.

I have enough friends on the good guy side that put themselves in harm's way for the safety of others that it would've been helpful to know that it was happening...but i was watching The Master's on ESPN. Kinda made me feel a bit like Nero. Though i have nothing else in common with that psychosocial freak.

As the wind begins to warm up its arms again for another round of using the drought choked Oklahoma landscape as a whipping post, let's pray that the good guys win this round.

You know the end is near when the worst brushfires aren't happening in California or the West. Here's hoping the Kingdom stays safe.

Hopefully the wind will die down and all y'all will get some rain. Wildfire ain't nothing to mess with!
