Seasoning...

Ya know...its weird, i got all these bloggy rocks rollin' around in my head, and i just can't seem to find the gumption to pull'em out and pitch'em. Most of'em deep thoughts...well more in the Jack Handy genre perhaps.

Anyway, i'm more in a cookin' mood, so tonight i seasoned my brand new 'lectric smoker (well, new to me)...i know, i know...you purists out there are going..."Did he just say 'electric' smoker? But, until i can build what i have penciled in, the 'lectric ones gonna hafta do.

And tomorrow's supper? A big ole fat pork tenderloin slathered with my magic rub (that tenderizes one's salivary glands to the point that you eventually just carry a towel with you when you step outside) to set atop a pan full of water logged hickory chips and just so ya know i'm prolly gonna let the drippin's from that find their way into a warm bowlful of pork n beans lovin'.

So here's the equation...

Pork Tenderloin (massaged in magic)+ Pork-n-Beans(w/bacon, onions, and brown sugar)+ a few hours of warm sultry hickory laden billowing love=

So...I had this debate with someone the other day. I can't remember who with. Anyway, what's the difference between pork n' beans and baked beans? The best we could come up with is that pork n' beans are served cold. Any thoughts?

My thoughts...pork 'n beans come out of a can. Baked beans come out of the oven. :^)

In this part o' the world, anyway. ;-)

I agree with CoP's definition of "baked beans," too.

"hickory laden billowing love"

Now THAT'S what I call Food Porn!

I must say, not feeling so jealous today. The Hubby and I will be eating at our fave restaurant tonite.

We will order a bottle of Le Volte, a super Tuscan that is to die for (or possibly a Colpetrone if they have one). We will have a simple salad with a killer Shallot Viniagrette. I will likely have a Risotto of some kind - I'm hopin' for wild mushroom and mascarpone cheese. The Hubby will have fish with broccoli rabe and garlic potatoes. Delectable desserts will follow. And perhaps, after the show we will be seeing at the local regional theater, we'll go back to the restaurant for a nice single malt.

Ahh...food porn. God I love it!!!

Hope you enjoy your meal tonite Piper. Seriously - :-)
