Somewhat blank slate...

'spose i get the "Most Uninspired" blog award for the day... i got nuthin'...so i'll resort to throwin' up some pics and oh lord...i'm going to admit it to you all...since you are my friends and fam...and realistically, some of you need this confession of sorts probably more than i need to give it...but...i'm makin' dinner...out of...are ya ready? Zatarain's Jambalaya MIX...yep...mix...The FNP not only has a mix in his cabinet HE AIN'T AFEERED TO USE IT!!! Oh, don't pick up the phone yet...i'm fine...just culinarily unspunkified. I promise you...i'm makin up for it tomorrow...the gears aren't just turning they're about to spin off the axle...but for now, here's the promised pics.

P1 got inlines for Christmas, my old stick, and a nerf ball that she has on loan from the Prince.

Want some good reads? Try MamaLou whom i'm living vicariously through right now, while she and PapaToby are in Aberdeen, Scotland. Or hit up Eric at his place and this little ditty about "Watching" for some writing at its finest.

As for me, i'm takin in a little Blackwater with the Doobies and whippin' up that jambalaya.

pleasant dreams fair reader.

Street hockey player in the making. Uninspired. I have felt that many times. Sometimes towards art. Don't tell Lou ;) Hey wait she knows. Apparently it is quite obvious.

Yes, Ashley, it can be quite obvious, but don't worry, we all feel "unispired" from time to time.

Nothing wrong with a little Zatarain's Mix. It's like a woman who wears make-up all the time - how do you know when she really gets dressed up? It is good to go sloppy sometimes to be appreciated when you do get fancy.

I made some grilled Portobello sandwiches the other day... lots of cheese (I know you don't like Swiss, but it balances the sweetness of the mushrooms and grilled onions perfectly), tons, of garlic, and just enough horseradish to give it that perfect tang.

Sara didn't think it would taste very good when I suggested making some, but quickly changed her mind after sampling mine. I, then, had to make another one for her.

Anyway, it was good; you should try one sometime.

Well, lets just say i haven't met the RIGHT Swiss yet. Regardless, by the sounds of it, you could make one of those for me anytime! Bread choice?

MamaLou...that reminds of the the first time you ever told me a joke (may possibly be the first time you ever talked to me) you said..."hey, you know why girls wear make-up and perfume?"

Ash...street hockey? I thought the same thing, but i think she's probably more the ice dancing flavor. Sad, so much talent...

I second Lou's "Nothing wrong with a little Zatarain's Mix." comment. There are quite a few "mixes" out there that are better than passable... especially in the oriental food dept.

Is this "uninspired" thing contagious? I've felt that way... more or less... since the holidays kicked off last month. And I'm still not out of the woods...

I understand about being uninspired as well...cooking & blogging. Blog has been more "Kris Lite" than usual. Finding it hard to find my voice - seems Hillary stole it from me. :-)

There is nothing wrong with a mix from time to time - makes you appreciate the good stuff all the more. Have a good beer or mellow wine with it and you won't feel so, um, guilty...

'Cause they are ugly and they stink! It is funny that you would remember that joke - I had forgotten it. Makes me think I should be more careful - what a first impression. LOL

Tamala made some black beans and rice for New Years Day and they were pretty "flat". So, I got up and fetched Tonys from the cupboard and spinkled liberally and ......yes indeedy....we had "fire in the hole"!!!! I larned a little Tonys goes a long way. It was good tho.
