We have our tax return finished and filed. We are presently awaiting our little cash cow to come in from the pasture so we can do a few things around the barnyard. Namely, BUILDING a barnyard. One of the other honey-do's on the list...about 700 square feet of glorious hardwood in The Castille.
I've completely given up on the renters carpet. Completely. So much so, that in the past couple months, whenever it gets spilled on, peed on, puked on, dumped on...i only do the barest of essentials to make the infected area safely habitable. I'm so done with it.
This morning, The X unfortunately spilled my hot coffee on himself...ouch. He was somewhat protected by his night night and only sustained a couple minor burns on his shoulder and arm which don't seem to be affecting him much now. The carpet however, sustained slightly more...as if i care. THEN, later on this morning he decided he'd do a bit of interior gardening and transplant the rhododendron...to the middle of the hallway...all of it. Apparently, there wasn't enough dirt to cover the ENTIRE hallway, so he continued to dig extra out of the pot until the supply was completely exhausted. Fortunately, the older Royals began cleaning it during their school break...until the massive amounts of dirt and dog hair clogged the hose on the vacuum...
It's such a relief knowing that in a more few weeks, a broom and mop will do.
So...i'd like to take this opportunity to make sure you get it on your calendar now...lets say...Friday evening, April 16th. Party...here, in the Main Hall of The Castille. Party favors will include but are not limited to: a small bucket, hot water with a mild detergent, sponge, towel, and a small mop. Drinks will be dark beers, wine (red), kool-aid (various staining colors), orange juice, hot chocolate, and coffee. We will also be serving large amounts of linguini with sausage marinara followed by all the makings for banana splits (of course including hot fudge, strawberry and caramel toppings). You are more than welcome to drop, spill, dribble, pee, puke...whatever, to your little hearts content, just try to keep it off the newly painted walls. Hence, the party favors.
There you have it...don't say you never got the invitation...

That's good news for you guys!! Gosh, maybe you can help me soften Shaun up a little regarding our carpet! I would love to pull ours up and tile it. Then some nice big and I do mean big, area rugs. YES!
But alas, Shaun likes the carpet. Oh hey, I got it, let me borrow those little royals for a week or so when he comes in, and throw in that plant too, or what's left of it ;)
I never got an invitation.
