LETRA...

Last Friday, i loaded up The Royals and took them to LETRA or in Royalese... Lake Lectric. If you haven't been to this area...and, let's be honest, why would you come here? there are a few bright spots...LETRA being one of them. It's within the confines of Ft. Sill, so that's sometimes an experience within itself. Though i've never SEEN a mortar round plug anywhere near me live and in color...i can FEEL their thunder at The Castille almost 40 miles away. So...when one gets somewhat...disoriented...like i did, while taking a new route to said destination, and one is in the backcountry of said base/artillery range, and one begins to see signs bearing..."WARNING: Do not deviate from road, LASER in use at any time", etc. etc...and one begins to assimilate the facts...'LASER means target...target means artillery rounds, artillery rounds mean...' one tends to obey. We found LETRA, and the driver decided not to take that route again...nice country but...well you know.
And for 6 bucks/vehicle for the entire day, with a waterslide ta boot, AND you can take all the food an icechest can hold... its a pretty tough deal to pass up.

Here's a more accurate idea of how the day went...

Sorry about the wonky colors on that first one...i may end up making it a b/w...i had taken it with the night shutter speed on...oops...i did what i could with it and it was such a good pic i had to use it...anyway...maybe i will have a cool photoshop type program sometime that i can fix the colors correctly.

Nuthin' like the lake on a hot day! You're right about the color on the first pic, but I enjoyed it just the same.

Letra is a fun place - and cheap too. We have taken the kayaks and done some exploring there.
