Man time...

i promised Uncle Buck this one...thought a few of you would appreciate also.

You may need some mood music for this one...

The Flying Dutchman came over Sunday evening and we had some dinner and sat around visiting...he brought up that he was a mite parched and we decided to break open the Christmas present he conjured for me. I was only too happy to oblige since i had promised him i would refrain until he could savor it with me.

Yes, friends and neighbors...that would be Johnnie Walker BLUE. Regarding everything you've ever heard IT IS...and more.

I hadn't had anything THAT good since Toby gave me some of his Bunnahabhain...needless to say...The Dutchman and i had some good man time together.

I've never had Blue Label, but a lot of folks I trust swear by it. As a matter of fact, I haven't drunk (drank?) a blend in quite some time. It certainly LOOKS delicious (the packaging is impressive!), and I'll take your word that it tastes as good as it looks.

I chased the Bunnahabhain link, and it'll be a while before I have any of their 25-year-old variety... like never. At $310.95 a bottle (Regular Price! heh) it's just a lil bit out of my league. But only a lil bit, mind you. ;-)

Great pics, Jay. I just KNOW you had a great time!

I have a bottle of that Blue Label in the cabinet, waiting for Buzzard to visit for the same reason yours was waiting for the Dutchman. Each of those glasses in the photo are worth more than I usually spend on dinner for myself at a nice restaurant. Enjoy!

The Scottish whiskey that Toby brought home is called Bruichladdich - is that what you are referring to? While in Edinburgh, Jesse wondered into a Whiskey Bar. She came out much happier and very impressed and it only took one taste.

.... Islay malts are the Nectar of The Gods, sir....

... oh, and an interesting tidbit about Mannish Boy?..... the CD version that I have lists Johnny Winter as "guitar & random screaming".... and oh, boy, does he randomly scream during the entire song... .
