For all you doubters...

BOOMER!!!!!!!!!

and if, like me, you didn't get enough the first time...

Here's a highlight reel

Now that that's over, let it be said that, though i am happy we are going to the BIG XII Championship next week in Kansas City, to clean up a little mess of a team who won the yankee portion of the conference...i want you all to know, i am NOT in agreement with the HOW we got there. I think football should be decided on the field, by coaches with headphones...not pencils on a poll sheet, not by voters, and certainly not by computers. Yes, we beat Texas Tech, convincingly, yes they beat Texas by a slim margin, but the wrench that stops the cog in my football engine is that Texas did, in fact, beat Oklahoma on a neutral field, by a 10 point margin. Texas then, by a head to head standard, should get the nod to play in the CCG...end of story. Unfortunately, its not the end of the story. Of course, those of you who may have the unfortunate position of BEING a T-sip...you actually do still have a chance...providing you put your chips on a bunch of ragamuffins and one crybaby from Mizzou...if they pull it off, you're back in the hunt. But for now, its the Sooner Show once again, and as much as you may hate it...SOONER MAGIC is real...believe it!

As I said on Becky's blog, I no longer have a dog in this fight, but there are lots of people out there who never gave (and never will give) TT the ratings that they deserve. Their huge loss to OU is the reason people don't have much respect for TT. So which was the fluke: UT's victory over OU or TT's victory over UT? UT's loss to TT made UT's victory over OU look like a fluke and that OU was really the strongest team.

You are right, though. It seems like OU and UT should square off again.

From my perspective, i don't think any of those victory's were a fluke. Texas Tech kept themselves in the game long enough to finally make a play to win it...Harrell put the ball in a perfect spot and Crabtree, being the incredible athlete he is, went up and got it, and was conditioned enough to break away from those defenders and score.

In October, you could see it as well as sense it...Texas just wanted it more than OU, it showed on the field as well as the scoreboard. Fluke? No, they just simply played better and had more desire at that point. Just like Tech did the night they beat Texas.

As far as being rated where they deserve...they were #2 (deservedly) and were beaten handily by #5 they fell to #8 in the AP...not too bad. Oddly, the BCS poll looks right, other than the travesty at #2 and #3, Tech holds the #7 position over Penn St.(11-1) and Boise St(12-0).

I still think Tech vs. Utah or Boise St. would be a really fun game to watch.

I suppose as far as what Tech deserves in their ranking could be answered by this...eeking out a W in Waco does not bode well for rankings. With that in mind, taking Oklahoma and Texas out of the equation (since that has already been proven) do you think they could beat Alabama, Florida, USC, Penn St. or Utah?

I think any of those would be good games, though i do think the first two would prove too much for Tech, USC and Penn St. would certainly be a great barometer of where Tech is at...Utah? i think Tech wins that one in a shootout. Ohio St.? that would be interesting.

So, in my estimation, Tech is in a very favorable, and fair ranking in the present system.

I scream, you scream, lets all scream for a playoff.

SOOOONNNER! SOONER MAGIC is very much alive and well.
Question to ponder. If the Big 12 had a different tie break system and IF Suxas indeed was playing Missouri in the Big 12 CG, how does that change the fact that OU is still #2 in the BCS. And, IF Suxas won the championship game, by, pick your margin, would that vault Suxas past OU in the BCS? I don't know. Something to think about. I know this, the Sooners better win their bowl game, whatever the bowl game may be, because we have fallen out of any national favor we once had. Losing 4 consecutive bowl games tends to sour people. Winning solves alot of problems. A Sooner win in Dallas, solves the entire debate. Or a Suxas win in Lubbock solves the entire debate. The Sooners and shorthorns have only themselves to blame for this mess. Even the administration of both schools who agreed on the tie break system, which will be certainly changed this spring. Oh well. The Sooners need to continue to kick a** and make'm like it. Win the bowl game. And I don't wanna hear Suxas say, we beat both teams, we should be playing. Well, refer to the previous statement on accountability.
BOOOMMMER SOOONNNER BABY!
