Sweet smell of Success...

This weekend, The Queen and i were doing some Fall cleaning in the house. I was in my respective position as King and husband, buried up to my... on the couch, enamored with the Sooners big W over the hapless Huskies, occasionally keeping tabs on the USC/Ohio St. meltdown. She was her normal busy bee self somewhere else in the house actually being productive. Now, its not to say that i hadn't done my part...i was just focusing on the "done" part of that.

The Royals? They were immersed in some movie in our room sprawled all over our newly washed and fresh smellin' bed.

I had lit one of those happy candles previously. You know, one of those "Old Fashioned Cranberry Vanilla Pumpkin Spice Whatevertheheckitis" candles? It had begun to infiltrate the entire living area...

So i'm superglued to the Huskies 55-14 trip to the Woodshed courtesy of the now #2 Sooners!

I'm listening to just one more rendition of Boomer Sooner by The Prrrrride...when HRHTDP strolls out of our bedroom (apparently an intermission), she stops, tilts her head up, tries the air, and in a...not a whisper but not actually voiced singsong..."what...is that...LOVELY smell?"

Time stopped and i absolutely lost it...that girl just cracks us up.

How sweet, Jay. : )

I was doing the same thing you were. Watching my Sooners blast the Huskies and doing a very well rounded job of it. I was a little worried about our defense after last week with Cincinnati but after watching them this week my doubts are disappearing. Then I was checking on the USC/Ohio State game. I was wishing they hadn't put both games on at the same time but then the USC game was boring. I'm kind of hoping we get to play them in the end and that we beat them. Now that would be cool. BOOMER SOONER

Your Royals are definitely funny. I love it that the Prince now recognizes me as someone he knows.

Speaking from Huskie-land - I resent your gloating! It's early days in the season folks...just wait.

Ah... Kids DO surprise and delight ya, don't they? And all the time, too!

rj...its good to be a Sooner! I'll definitely take USC in the Orange Bowl this year, provided there is not one solitary Pac 10 official within the STATE of FL at that time.

MamaLou...we wouldn't have it any other way. Since we know where the treasure is, they would be poorer indeed if they didn't know you and your family.

My good little yankee friend...Unless you have some affinity for the western strain of Husky's (Washington) you have nothing to worry about...UConn is doing just fine...though i seriously doubt they'll get a sniff at the Orange.

Unca Buck...mine seem to have cornered the market on that.

Ah you would be right Piper. I assumed you were referring to the CT Huskies. I'm loyal to my local teams, even if I don't follow their sports with regularity.

Well - maybe the men won't make it this year. But as we say in CT:

UCONN - where men are men and women are champions!
