There are times in this life when you meet someone that you just connect with. A rare opportunity indeed. In some cases this convergence results in friendships that last a lifetime, in some cases it is an evanescent conclave that you revisit in your mind and fondly remember...
Today was one of those days for me...
It was odd, actually, for me to see these pictures and realize that we were of the same height. Perhaps it was the uniform...perhaps just the energy, the persona, of the occupant...but here was one of those very few that seem larger than life, even when you are standing next to them.
There was none of that military brashness, that i find so appalling, this was a man of governing sanction yet genuine, kind, and humble. I hope that we have the opportunity to meet again in a future time and place, other than this medium, and shake hands once again.
Thanks Doc, thankyou so much, it was a pleasure for us all...

PN2 seems to be staring in awe. Come on Jay; we know you were standing on your tippie-toes.
The honor was all mine, Jay. You have one of those rare families that restores one's faith in families. I look forward to watching from a distance through the blog, to reading of escapades, trials, and triumphs, and to seeing you all again, I hope, not too awfully far down the road. An honor indeed. Doc.
It looks like you had an absolute brilliant day, in all respects. All y'all are lookin' GOOD!
Great pics! Looks like you had fun! Looks like fun! I wanna go!
