Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth. I sat at a table where were rich food and wine in abundance, and obsequious attendance, but sincerity and truth were not; and I went away hungry from the inhospitable board. Henry David Thoreau (1817 - 1862)

Man, this coffee tastes like sh...
Keep a weathereye on that rearview Starbuck's...you've got some competition. Looks like some folks just have a more exotic palette than even i. You know what? Be my guest, i'll keep my Peppermint Mocha and an occasional Americano. Call me thrifty but i dang sure ain't gonna be laying out no Ben Franklin for a pound of this "delicacy". I suppose if i get that desperate for a cuppa crap...I'll run down to the local Devil Mart, procure myself a bag o'Folgers beans and dip'em in the cow pies out back for a day or two...i'll make sure they're from the DAIRY cows, assuming that would give the bean a more "creamy" finish.

Good Lord... I'll pass. Yuck.
Thankfully coffee is coffee to me, when I drink it.
I'm sorry, but dat ain't rat.
I'd seen this before, believe it or don't, on a History Channel show about coffee.
And yeah, I'll pass. Foglifter for me, thankyouverymuch.
You guys realize how much fun i could have with the phrase "I'll pass..." pertaining to the subject matter? Actually, i almost included it in the original post. But yeah, i totally agree, i'll pass, and heh heh, "dat ain't rat".
Interesting on the Foglifter (great moniker by the way)...i have seen Millstone at the local DevilMart, may have to check that one out.

My daily brew, Jay. Millstone's Bed and Breakfast blend is good, too. I alternate between the two, with an occasional pot of French Roast tossed in.
i'll confess...i'm not a HUGE coffee guy. With that said, i do enjoy GOOD coffee. What i drink at home is not what most call coffee, its more like blackened jet fuel. Its a New Orleans blend of chicory and coffee made by the iconic Cafe Du Monde...called Cafe Au Lait. Its made by mixing equal parts coffee (basically cajun espresso) and hot milk, and of course, powdered sugar. I'm a sucker for this "foglifter", for me its more like a "Baker Event".
If only Starbucks had chicory...
Bo
Bo,
you never fail to think outside the 'to go' box. Thanks for the laugh...and the thought.
