Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth. I sat at a table where were rich food and wine in abundance, and obsequious attendance, but sincerity and truth were not; and I went away hungry from the inhospitable board.

Don't know why - but this was my favorite song when I was in my early teens - guess it was just one of the songs that I knew all the words to and could sing along.....I think it was Ernie's rich southern, religious oriented, soulfulness that drew me in....his How Great Thou Art certainly rivals the Elvis version !!! Honey
... I've been searching for his version of "Then Sings My Soul".... or is it "How Great Thou Art"?.... either way, I still can't find it.... and he does it better than anyone....

In heavy rotation Chez Moi when I was a child of 12 or so... Mom loved Ol' Ernie... a LOT.
