And now...the weather

Today's forecast...like yesterday, high's expected into the balmy mid-20's but today's added bonus...a nice frosting of thin ice...everywhere. You may want to throw in that extra light jacket if you'll be enjoying any of those fun outdoor activities like, falling on your arse the second step out of the door, scraping that frozen granite off your windows, only to realize your car doors are frozen shut while the minty fresh -114 wind chill thickens your blood. Then after spending the time pouring warm water down the cracks in the door, you realize a small fracture has formed in the drivers side window from rapid temperature change. Of course, your day will be brightened by laughing at all the idiots who have rolled over into the roadsides on your morning commute...right up to the point where you take out that brick mailbox on your way into a country bar ditch. Yep, all in all a beautiful day here in South Central Oklahoma...if you're say, an Emperor Penguin. Enjoy that conversation with your friendly insurance agent...he's there for YOU!

p.s. To the parents...i said i liked SNOW...not ice.

Blogging in the next few days will be light with sporadic rants on how busy life has become, if you do encounter any of those...take shelter immediately.

Ah. No ice. No snow, either, here on The High Plains of New Mexico. Just frickin' COLD and a frozen water line to the RV for the last 36 hours or so. That's bad enough for me. And relief is on the way... we'll get to the mid-50s today. Supposedly.

Hang in there, Jay. And go back and proof your "yours" and "you'res." ;-)

thanks Uncle Buck...that was horribly incorrect and now, repaired.

Um .. -114 wind chill? Was that a typo? Because my god how does a person survive that?

We're due for the ice overnight here; should make the AM commute so lovely tomorrow.

Was the rest of your story real? Cuz I hope you are OK if it is...

Yep, slid out the back door and down the steps - never saw the ice until I was on it.

So, let me get this straight. You're saying driving to Colorado wouldn't be a good idea this weekend. That everyone isn't experiencing a high of seventy-freakin-nine degrees. Got it.

... why am I dialing up "slip-sliding away" here in my head?.....
