Connections...

The posts may be short, i'm not exactly sure how long this connection will last. If it proves good, perhaps i can have a bit more time to elucidate, but for now...short and sweet.

First, we made it! and...just for the Moondawg...it's freaking beautiful up here (i waved at La Veta as we motored by). Doc is right...its Blue Skies here, with flecks of misty cotton balls flung into the cerulean expanse. I'm still laughing at the conversation i had with The Wayfaring Auntie yesterday...we were on our way to the Chinese market not far away to pick up some Teriyaki burger fixins... i asked, "What's the temp outside?" (since the windows were tightly screwed into the top of the car doors).

She looks down and exasperatedly, "Gawd, its like 86!"

I smiled (wishing i could relieve the window from its strain) "Its that hot by 8:30 at home."

Papa and Honey are going to the Rockies game tonite, we're watching it on tv and piling a whole bunch of chicken, veggies, and fruit on the grill later...its sounding more and more Caribbean as the day goes on.

Just got back from a morning at the park, and now Papa is doing a hit and pitch drill with HRHTDP and P2 (who by the way is already showing signs of being a good hitter). Last night, i taught TDP how to play tennis on Honey's Wii...even The Queen admitted it was addictive.

Yup, its gonna be a fun couple weeks...

Damn you! I was hoping to be the first to use the word "CERULEAN" in a post. Other than that, it sounds gorgeous -- enjoy!

Ha! Sorry Bob! Its funny you would say that though...i kinda felt weird using it...i mean, there's only so many ways you can say 'blue' and honestly, it just didn't fit in this instance, i needed something more...profound.

Again, DD, an uttered laugh...dry heat...yeah and i bet you've never burned yourself with a hair dryer...go ahead, admit it. I have...and yep its dry.

Like diamonds on black velvet - Toby and I use to love to look at the stars at night in NNM.

Mike Fay (a Marine artist - see my blog links) used the term "cerulean" when describing the blue dresses of the little girls in an Afghanastan school. He got a few comments on it. It just is so much more descriptive than "blue."

Enjoy the mountains. Try to soak up the cool to bring back with you later on.
