Milk Psychology

I've actually been meaning to post this one for awhile. I came upon this little scene while cleaning up after a good breakfast of Pancakes (its capitalized because pancakes this good needs capitalization), pan fried bacon, and of course, milk.

Now, when i say milk, i'm not talking about that B&P crap you buy at your local. I'm talking about MILK. Braum's milk. Pure, unadulterated (well, unfortunately, they do have to pasteurize and homogenize it), straight from their own dairy right here in state, Grade A Holstein milk.

I know your asking, what did he mean by B&P? So i'll tell you. Back a few years ago, a news crew from OKC did some studies on the cow's milk sold in all the local groceries, including many "national" brands. Their findings? All... that would be as in entirely, completely, totally, every one of them, contained in varying amounts...are you ready for this? Blood and pus... Folks, i'm not making this up...if i could find the report to post here i would...but i don't forget stuff like this. Oh, i did forget to mention...the only dairy company that consistently DID NOT have said putrifications? You got it...Braum's. Well, sure, you could argue the point that dairy's use all kinds of countermeasures to prevent all that garbage and obviously pasteurization and homogenization remove basically everything but the calcium and water. And who knows, maybe it was all bunk.

Regardless, i didn't drink it because of that...i didn't KNOW that until the report...i drank it because it was just WAY better tasting milk than anything i could find in any other store. Now, i know that some, if not a majority of you are out of state, and cannot buy Braum's milk, nor have you probably ever even heard the name. So, let me state it this way...to us here where the wind comes sweepin' down the plains...Braum's is to milk (and milk related products) as Ben & Jerry's is to ice cream where you are. Yeah, its THAT good. The only thing better is a local dairy that i stop by on occasion to get THE REAL DEAL (i.e. unpasteurized/ nonhomogenized beautiful cream on the top M.I.L.K.) and I should know...my Grandpa was a wheat and dairy farmer, and dang good at it too. He had the best milk in the county, if not the state...(WELL OF COURSE I'M PARTIAL!) so you could say, good milk is in my blood.

And i'd like to keep it that way...milk in my blood, not the other way round.

Jiminy Christmas! I have never digressed so far from my original intended subject!

Anyhoo, back to the comedic, yet profound scene... One (and i don't know which) of the Royals did this little number...i was just about to pick the cup up and decided there was some psychology at work here.

How do you view this? Is the cup half on...or is it half off?

Are you on Braums payroll now??? My girls remember well you telling them this story about milk, they would only drink Braums after that, until Chara could no longer have dairy of any sort. Now they both do soy. Talk about nasty, but no pus or blood. And I do agree Braums milk is the BEST! Half on.

Forget the Braum's milk, bring on the ice cream, particularly the After Dinner Mint! I say half on too:) I'm into thinking positively today.

Dude...

I'm still digesting this info...mainly because there is milk in the coffee I'm drinking right now. Blood and pus?

Good thing I'm not weak stomached. Also, Rye is the only all out milk drinker in our family. Colt & I use it sparingly.

I do totally agree with you on Braum's quality. As Dawn said, "Bring on the ice cream!"

I wish the cup still had some milk in it. (no blood & pus, of course) I really like the color of the cup & the design, the strategic placing is from your artistic child. Which one would that be?

CoP: My guess is the Prince set the cup on the table, being short he can only reach so far.

Diva: I didn't know Chara was dairy free...what about that little segment a few days ago with the whipped cream? I've tasted soy milk...b...l...e...c...h!!! Its just completely foreign to my palette. My SIL is dairyless too, i don't know how she does it. Half on huh? I can see that in you...good show. btw i think it might have been The Prince too, but it's P2's cup...of course, he's been known to sample.

D2D: Shockingly, i've not tried the ADMint...i do however, like to mix Rocky Road and Chocolate Almond in a shake...mmmmmmm. Half on...interesting...

Jewels: like i said, i'm fairly certain that pasteur/homogenization removes all that, but hey, why take the chance? And there's no comparison when you do the taste test, probably because pus just doesn't seem to agree to my delicate taste centers. Funny that you would notice the design and placement of the cup being...artistic. So would that put you in the half off category?

I consider myself a glass half-full type of gal, but this cup is definitely half off. Hmmmm...

Half-on.

The nearest Braum's is in Amarillo and I ain't driving two-plus hours to buy milk... but I ALWAYS make time for a Braum's banana split when I DO make the trip.

The Second Mrs. Pennington and I were "regulars" at our local Braum's when we lived in Choctaw... which is where I acquired that banana split fetish.

She hasn't been able to do dairy since she was 16, poor thing. As far as the whipped cream goes, sometimes she is willing to just suffer.

I say half on too.

We buy only Braum's milk. I don't drink much though.

Milk is nasty no matter what brand it is..... do you know where that stuff comes from??

From the scientific POV, said mug is definitely OVER half-on. Based on observation, I have concluded that the extra weight distribution caused by the HANDLE, ON THE "TABLE-SIDE" OF SAID MUG, is the determining factor...Try it with the handle on the OTHER side and you got a whole different ballgame...Sorry, no defiance of physics here.
