Mad Skillz...

OK, stay with me here, cuz i have no idea where this is going...kinda sounds like me on the teebox today...

I haven't written lately because i really haven't had all that much to say. Not that there has been nonactivity, just not much time to write. I'm in the process of studying for an upcoming test that has me downright fidgety. Did you ever see the movie "Pursuit of Happyness" with Will Smith? Well, that's the kind of test i'm going to be taking, not EXACTLY the same but similar...scary. Me and my mad skilz with math and all...hah...yeah.

In other news, i gave The Prince his second ever haircut tonight...turned out much better than last time...speaking of mad skilz. That boy...i tellya...we're not really sure what's going on with his innards lately. He's eating fine, drinking fine, he looks and acts like an 18 month old should. But GOOD GOSHAMIGHTY the toxic waste that is coming out of his south side is pure funkadelic! Its a mixture of...remember that stuff that came out when we were kids called Slime and it was green and oozy, like a giant glob of snot? Well...color it puce, add a cup of water, and the smell of dirty feet and crap, and you've come close. We THINK he might be teething, but he won't let us look in his mouth long enough to see if maybe his molars are coming in. Every diaper change becomes a bathtime at this point...if you have kids you get it...if you don't and your thinking about it...well, that's a dose of parenthood for ya.

As mentioned, got out and played a little golf today...the front nine...well lets just say it was a good day for a scramble...back nine...much better, i actually contributed to the team. On the par 5, 16th, i drove us to just off the fairway on the right about 260 yards, leaving us about 240 to the green. My 2nd shot was almost an ESPN highlight. I struck it well, as it gracefully accelerated elevating like an F-18 screaming off a flattop, it then beautifully rolled a perfect left arc towards the green, bounced a couple times in the landing area and rolled softly onto the green surface. It had just a little too much momentum for a winter slick green and accelerated on the leeward side of a small rise, rolling down to put us just off the left side of the green pin high. That was my major contribution of the day...of course we blew the eagle chip, but fortunately one of the three of us sank the 15 footer for birdie. My mad skilz...uhhh yeah...not so much. Of course, the two old guys we were playing against were reminiscent of Laurel and Hardy...right up until the time they made contact with the ball...when it was more reminiscent of Arnie and Jack...they killed us...but man, they are always fun to play with. One of them, Bob, who really does have mad skillz(actually they both do) he's pushing seventy, and cusses a blue streak under his breath when he misses a 30 footer for eagle by millimeters. But, he's the funny cusser, the kind you stand there just waiting for the next expletive to roll off so you can just...roll. He's not over the top, NEVER crude or tactless, just fun, always encouraging on the good shots, quiet on the bad ones. I've played plenty of rounds with the other kind, those boorish toilet mouths who really should just hang it up for the good of the game. But not Bob and Uncle Sonny...they are the ones that beat the snot out of ya, and make you want to come back for more.

Got this email this morning from Erick (whom i played golf with above) this was attached to it and thought you might find it as interesting as i did. Apparently, as the story goes, this dude(not Erick) was up in his treestand deer hunting when along comes this cougar at a short distance. He lets him slip quietly by, watching as any of us would in silent awe "He's just out huntin' too". A few minutes later, the cat comes back, but slightly closer stopping occasionally snuffing around, again the hunter lets him pass by and settles back in to scanning for deer. Not long later, the cougar comes back, much closer, much more in direct line with the hunter...when he then realizes, "He's hunting...me". The most dangerous game coming to an end right then and there for the mountain lion...as you can see...he's pretty...ummmm big. Oh, by the way, did i mention...this wasn't in Wyoming or Arizona or New Mexico...this was just outside of Jet, Oklahoma. Yup, right here in the good old Sooner state. Erick has told me before that a couple years back he was making and early morning delivery over towards Lawton and swears to this day that he saw a black panther in a field a few miles from his house. This makes that story a LIT-TLE more believable.

Its been a quiet kind of weekend around the Kingdom...The Queen needed it, and i probably did too. Snippety doodads coming up this week, the Super Bowl... no lack of events. So, that should catch you up on the orbital spin of our little part of the universe...

Good night fair reader...

Good Gosh, the cat is big.
Our neighbor across the road has sighted a black panther twice now and called to warn us. I shudder to think of one anywhere near this size!!
I absolutly love the fresh haircut!

Kinda like the best bosses I had back in the day.

I second what Dawn sez: That's a BIG cat!!

We were headed down the back roads to Lawton one night several years ago and saw a large cat-like animal, but only briefly. Toby and I both looked at each other with that, "was that what I thought it was" look. I have heard a few first-hand accounts of moutain lion spottings. Or would they be called prairie lions?

I love "like me on the teebox.."

As for the boy poop, try cutting out any juice. Toby's nephew went through something similar at about this same age - made you want to run and hide when it came time to change a diaper, clothes, shoes...

Also, good luck on your test. Toby is quite excited about it.

I don't know why my email has been a problem, but we will play with my photos when I get home.

Sounds more like "sad skilz" in golf on your team. And for those of you who have not seen this, get your tissue and your cough syrup, cause you'll be laughin so hard you'll tear up and start coughing.

Well the above web address won't work for you. If you want to see something absolutely hilarious email the piper or myself at palmer_ths@yahoo.com. The video is of fathers changing their babies.
